In the Museum of Lisbon's new room dedicated to the Depictions of Saints in Tile, we learn about some of the most important works of this peculiar devotional expression.
Some of the pieces featured here form part of the Museum of Lisbon collection, while others are found in other museums or remain part of their original settings.
This visit will allow visitors to explore some of the more than 1700 specimens of this particular form of heritage in Lisbon, alongside stories of their safeguarding and recovery, including the recent discovery and recuperation of an important piece dating from before the 1755 earthquake.
