Three soloists from the Lisbon Gregorian Choir – António Gonçalves, Armando Possante and Simão Andrade – present a programme paying homage to Saint Anthony, who was born in Lisbon in the late 12th century and was canonised in the early 13th, a few years after his death.

The programme for this concert, which takes place as part of the exhibition Vita Prima. Saint Anthony in Portugal, is centred on recreating the musical structure of the Liturgy of the Mass, going through all the chants of the Proper of the Mass, namely the Introitus at the opening of the celebration, and the Offertorium and Communio that accompany the corresponding stages (Offertory and Communion).

Directed by Armando Possante since 2011, the Gregorian Choir of Lisbon was founded in 1989 by Maria Helena Pires de Matos to study and promote Gregorian chant through an intense programme of concerts.
